Energy Supply Ombudsman An independant view. Making a complaint to the Energy Supply Ombudsman

Companies which are members of the Energy Networks Association become members of the Service.  The Service changes its name from 'The Energy Supply Ombudsman' to, 'The Energy Ombudsman'.  The Ombudsman's terms of reference have been adjusted to allow consideration of complaints about the physical supply of gas and electricity to homes (for example power cuts). 

1 January 2008

Following an amendment to the terms of reference for the Energy Ombudsman the Ombudsman is now allowed to deal with complaints when customers have followed the company's complaints procedure as set out in their plain English policy statement and has allowed them up to eight weeks * to sort out the problem. Please see the Complaints Process section of our website for more information.

Following an ammendment to the terms of reference for the Energy Ombudsman, the Ombudsman is now allowed to deal with compliants about an energy companies sales activity.

The Ombudsman may be able to help if the problem you ae complaining about happened after 1 September 2007.
